Alan is a successful consultant, coach, writer and investor. He holds a number of coaching and professional qualifications but believes that the best qualification is experience.
Alan retired from a successful career in 2010 at the age of 36 and moved to the countryside with his family. Originally intended as a 1 year experiment before a permanent move to France, the move to the countryside has become indefinite and Alan has designed the Life and lifestyle he wants for himself and his family.
They even wrote a book about it: To The Country We Go…
Alan founded Life’s Too Good in May 2011 to teach himself how to build a website and learn more about the internet. Via this website, Alan is able to share some of his professional consulting and coaching experience as well as his personal journey to financial freedom, how he now enjoys life more than ever (and for less money) and how he became a successful coach, writer and investor along the way.
With over 15 years of experience, Alan has coached and worked in ‘trusted advisor’ roles at the highest level in major corporate institutions, primarily at CXO level.
Aside from his corporate and coaching experience, Alan is also a relatively experienced investor having built a small portfolio of property and business interests. Alan is also a published author with books ranging from professional self-help books to travel writing and childrens books.
Alan lives life to the full and fits in as many of his passions as possible. His main passion is his family and spending time enjoying the beautiful English countryside where he lives with them. He also enjoys playing golf and if he can find the time other sports including tennis, badminton, squash, skiing and football. Alan is a strong believer in always learning and enjoying life, he continually practices his languages, reading in either French or German rather than his native English and is just starting struggling to learn Spanish.
Unlike many coaches, Alan also has in-depth knowledge and experience from within the corporate world, having held senior roles at Deutsche Bank, UBS, Santander, HSBC, MAPartners and Detica and is expert in programme management (MSP qualified), project management (Prince2 practitioner & PMI-PMP qualified), client relationship management, sourcing strategies (BPR, 6-sigma) and strategy & architecture.
