Practical thinking for work, money and life.

I’m Alan Chatfield. I’ve spent my career helping people and organisations make better decisions, simplify complex problems and get better results - professionally, financially and personally.

What I do

A few different strands, all with the same aim: clearer thinking, better choices and useful results.

About Alan

I spent many years in senior consulting and trusted-adviser roles, working with major organisations and senior executives. In 2010, aged 36, I stepped away from a conventional corporate career and moved to the countryside with my family.

What began as a one-year experiment became a much bigger redesign of life: less dependence on the usual career path, more freedom, more time, and more space for writing, coaching, investing and learning.

I’m interested in practical ideas that make life and work better - not theory for its own sake. That usually means asking better questions, stripping away unnecessary complexity and making choices that actually fit the life you want.
